We are their voice. Animals depend on us, and we’ve spent the past year living up to our promise to save more animals than ever before. We continue our crusade to help end animal cruelty, by transport hundreds of dogs to no kill shelters, by van and by plane. We are lowing the euthanasia rate in our high kill shelters by offering a once a month free spay/neuter clinics in Riverside county with up coming project in Kern County, Lancaster and South Central Los Angeles. We also delight in working with the child in hospitals with our rescue therapy dog Zoe. There is still so much to do & we need your help.
Rescue dogs got their wings
We teamed up with pilot Yehuda of Wings of Rescue and flew 35 lucky rescue dogs from LA to Eugene Oregon. Safe Haven and Luv a Bull met us at the Airport to pick up these lucky pups. Please help us continue these life saving rescue missions.

We can reverse the universal acceptance that killing is the only solution to pet over-population. Our mission is to end the suffering of innocent dogs and cats by reducing the number of unwanted births which will reduce our high kill euthanasia rate
Every month at our free clinic our goal is to S/N 30 - 35 dogs and cats. That means 350 puppies and kittens will not be born. And those puppies and kittens will not have 3,500 puppies and kittens, and so on.
S/N is the answer to our over population, over crowded shelters and over euthanizing problem. It is the answer for all the unwanted stray on the streets. It is the answers for all the 50 people who line up outside the shelters every day to dump off their unwanted pets.
We need to spread the word and tell everyone to STOP having puppies and kittens at home.
STOP making money of these innocent animals. It's all about GREED.

The van is packed up and ready to go. A 16 hour drive ahead of us. Candace Modrell has her 3 babies and Veronica Ferrantelli has a sweet little rescue pup along as her co-pilot. They have working relationships with many Oregon's no kill shelters, rescue groups and sanctuaries that are taking in some of our overcrowded, unwanted L.A. dogs that are scheduled to be put down.

We arrived at the Southern Oregon Humane shelter, late into the night. We hurried to get all the dogs out of the van for a pee break after a 11 hour drive. Medford, Oregon shelter greeted us with a warm welcome and then jumped in and started getting all the dogs out, 2 at a time. "It was the most wonderful moment, it felt like Christmas morning. We were so exhausted and so overjoyed at the same time", Veronica said. "We made it! Candace says, "They just know everything is going to be alright. They just know they are safe". We still had 3 more hours to drive that night to Eugene for the second rescue drop off.
At this time we have successfully been transporting dogs every month - saving well over 100 lucky dogs. As great as this is, it is like - trying to drain a sinking ship with a teaspoon. The reason for our over population is the carelessness of not spaying/neutering the family pets. Our 6 LA high kill shelters and neighboring high kill shelters are putting down 60/80 dogs and cats at each shelter every single day. The solution is stronger laws /penalties /regulations on S/N requirements, enforcing stronger laws on breeders, backyard breeders, stopping dog fighting breeders, stopping puppy mills altogether, and educating regular people like you and me to simply be more responsible by not having litters at home. We as a community must hold these people accountable. This can only change by getting involved and voting for stronger laws. Making sure the people we put in authority enforce those laws. If you can't afford to S/N your pet, there are many low cost clinics available, or adopt a pet from your local shelter that is already S/N. It is not fair to have to kill so many loving, sweet, adoptable dogs every day because they are out of site out, of mind and we are not taking responsibility. It is a proven, simple and low cost solution that works.

Our little rescue pup was featured in Cesar Millan's - The Dog Whisperer Magazine. When we temperament testing for a transport we often come across cages full of perfectly, healthy, beautiful playful pups. This little pup was so tiny and in a cage with 10 other beautiful discarded dogs. So I just had to take her home. Below are her first photos out of the high kill shelter in a safe home. Just look at her now. Little "Miss Waffle" is a Super Model. Where is her cat walk?
This is a perfect example why we should adopt a shelter pet and not support breeders and people who sell puppies just to make money off of them. Our over crowded shelters are already filled with perfect little Super Models. Just waiting for their chance.
LUV A BULL
This sweet little guy was dumped off at the Lancaster county shelter. He would not stand a chance of ever getting out of there. So Candace called Liesle at Luv A Bull Pit Bull Rescue & Sanctuary, asked if she would like to help this baby. Of course Leisle said "Yes". So we loaded him up in our van ride up to Oregon. That transport, we saved 71 lives. Including this little beauitful boy.

Quarantine Area DO NOT ENTER
This tiny tiny Chihuahua puppy was labeled "Vicious". He was in quarantine, where the public could not see him or visit him or adopt him. Locked up with all the big dogs with no bed or blanket, just on a wet cement floor. Sadly this happens to a lot of our misunderstood discarded dogs.
The first day at Veronica's house, "He just slept straight through it, because he was exhausted from being so terrified for so long. Fighting for his life. Finally a quiet and safe place to shut his eyes. Next day out and about playing in the yard with my 2 dogs. This little baby did not stand a chance of ever getting adopted because a county worker at the shelter decided to label him - Vicious. He was not a vicious. He was a tiny sacred little puppy. Look for yourself. This was a baby. The grass and weeds are taller than him. I think the county worker was a "vicious bully".
"Thank you to everyone who helped get me out of that scary place. Thank you for caring enough to do something about it. I am safe now. I am running and playing in the tall grass, in the sun. Happy like a little puppy should be. May God bless all of you that helped in my rescue".
2 Day Old Orphans
Veronica received a phone call from Candace, she was at the shelter and 2 day old puppies just got dumped off. They were going to need special care. Feedings every 2 hours. "Are you up for it?" Of course, Veronica jumped right in.
Then Candace had the idea of finding a Momma that just gave birth to her own set of puppies. She drove an hour and 1/2 to another county shelter and found the most perfect Momma. "I introduced Momma to the orphan puppies. Momma sniffed them and pulled them near. She was a perfect generous Momma. All the babies and Momma since then have been adopted by loving wonderful families".
100 dogs in 1 day!
FREE SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC
That was the goal and we exceeded it! Amazing! Over 100 dogs were spayed and neutered in South L.A. at the free mobile clinic. Great Job!
Clinics like this, is the right solution to our careless over population. Way to go!
